Because of his sharp clinical
acumen, extensive knowledge in the subject and art of caring and curing,
has a unique simple way of approaching illness using low technology more
often than the high technology. He also believes strongly that majority
of the patients need low technology only and high technology should be
reserved only for few selected patients and as and when necessary
because high technology has its own limitations and problems. many
people may believe that high technology and spending lot of money is
superior form of treatment but it is not so because in the field of
medicine every treatment has its own place and all are complimentary to
each other rather than one is better than the other.
For last 25 years he has been
treating 100's of patient giving them the right direction and advice to
balance all four components of health and well being i.e. body, mind,
spirit and social, in the holistic way.
Dr. Shetty has a unique
distinction of performing the 1st angiography and 1st angioplasty at two
leading private institute in Mumbai.
Today good scientific study and
data are available confirming the fact that our disease process is
different as compared to the western world in most of the illnesses. If
that is so Dr. Shetty feels that our disease also needs different
approach rather than applying western methods straightaway.
Dr. Shetty had the privilege of
seeing the evolution of various checkups for the last 25 years and has
the ability of doing every checkups himself on patients from simple
history taking up to the complex procedures like angiography and
angioplasty. Because of this, he knows the positive and negative aspects
of every checkups and is sharp in selecting the right investigation
applying common sense, presence of mind approach particularly looking
into our socio- economic background.
He strongly believes that good
history taking and examination of the patient is the most important tool
among all the available checkups today.
